Squad Leader, FIrst Special Service Force - Italy 1943

This squad leader wears the typical and identifying FSSF uniform of the Italy campaign.

Over a standard wool shirt, jumper and either the M41 Field Jacket or a Tankers jacket he wears a second pattern ski parka with the green side out.

On the lower half he wears US Mountain trousers and his footwear are the famous "Corcoran" jump boots.

His web equipment is based around a M36 Pistol Belt on which he has a magazine pouch on the right for 2 magazines for his 1911A1 pistol and on the left he has a 5 pocket pouch for his Thompson SMG. The pouch was designed for the 20-round magazines and so these 30-round magazines protrude from the top.

The FSSF distinctive fighting knife, the V-42, is worn in its sheath which is actually attached to the trouser belt, the long sheath allowing it to still be accessible below the web gear and the long parka.
