1er Bataillon Parachutiste de Choc - Op Lea 1947

At the end of 1947 the Demi-Brigade de Marche Parachutiste (DBMP) jumped into combat in the Coa Bang area. The DBMP comprised the 1er Battailon Parachutiste de Choc (1BPC), the I/1er RCP and the III/1er RCP as well as support elements.

Our NCO is almost solely equipped with items of US origin, as was most of the DBMP. In an operational uniform it is almost impossible to determine the regiment of soldiers of the parachute infantry

His uniform is the very popular and practical US 1943 HBT 2-piece suit.

Headwear is the French M1949 Chapeau de Brousse (jungle hat), an excellent piece of kit that will be in use to the end of the war and beyond.

All of his web equipment is of US origin as are his weapons, a Thompson SMG, a 1911A1 pistol and a M3 fighting knife. The magazines for the Thompson are carried in the pockets.

His boots are the US M43 "Buckle" boots.
